I was committee chairman of my sons’ Scout troop from 2000 to 2013. My 3 boys all completed the trail to Eagle. It was an incredible journey for them that fostered a life time of knowledge, experience and friendship. In all that time, not only did I never suspect any ill intent from my friends – the dedicated parent volunteers that I bonded with – there are effective safety protocols in place to prevent putting the boys in harm’s way. It’s a shame that past transgressions – and they were egregious – and viper lawyers are creating a barrier to parents allowing new generations to have this incredible experience. It’s unique and special.
