My Passion for Scouting

I joined Scouting in 1986 at the age of 6 in Northern Ontario, Canada. I attended the Canadian Jamboree in Kananaskiss Alberta in 1993 and earned my Chief Scouts Award (equivalent to Eagle Scout) in 1994. My family then moved to Northeast Wisconsin where, just before my 18th birthday in 1998, I completed my Eagle Scout Rank. I have since gone on to serve as a unit leader at the Pack, Troop & Crew Level, District Commissioner, Council Advancement Chair, Council Executive Board and Council Vice-President of Program. In 2019 I was awarded the Silver Beaver. I now have 2 children who are involved in Cub Scouts and was overjoyed when the decision was made to allow girls to join, my daughter is now at the Bear level and loves everything about Scouts, especially archery. Scouting is an amazing opportunity for my family to enjoy fellowship, meet new friends and teach our children the values we hold most dear. Scouting has given me incredible leadership skills that I have used to be successful in my career and my Eagle Scout is still the most talked about piece of my resume. This program has been an invaluable contributor of the person I am today and my solemn hope is that it will provide the same benefits to future generations of my family and many other families.
