Scouts Taught Me About Giving Back

As a child I never really appreciated the outdoors or community service until I found the value of both in the Scouts. Today some of my greatest passions are spending time outdoors with my children and giving back to the community by donating blood, picking up trash, and volunteering as a firefighter and EMT — all because of the spark that the Scouts put into my life. I hope to show the value of the Scouts to both my son and daughter when they’re old enough to join; Scouting was one of the best character building experiences I’ve had in my life.
