Going to Scouts was the Best!

Being an only child in a military family, we never unpacked the last box. Scouting was the common thread that helped me adjust to new homes. And new friends came easier through Scouts.

I didn’t know it then (because boys don’t join to have their character molded) but I found out later in life that being a Scout taught me life lessons I would have never gotten otherwise. And all the places I camped and visited as a Scout was incredible. Over 45 years later and a retired Scout executive, I gave back so thousands upon thousands of boys could get the opportunities I had. And when you love your job, it’s not work.

The BSA must come through these tough times, hopefully stronger than ever, because families need scouting to help pick up for some of the other challenges of raising children today.
