Scouts save a choking victim.

Two Scouts in my troop came upon a man who was choking. One Scout went to get help while the other Scout worked on the victim and was able to clear his airway. This was possible because both Scouts had recently completed their first aid merit badges. The Scouts received recognition from our Council for their heroics.

This is part of what I call the hidden curriculum in scouting. Skills taught no where else. Turning boys into men and now girls into women!
